BauSIM Conferences
With the main topic "Energy Efficiency in Building Design and Thermal Comfort in Rooms" the first German-Austrian IBPSA conference BauSIM2006 was held at the Technische Universität München in October 2006. A specialized exhibition was being organized as part of the conference for giving institutions and companies an opportunity to demonstrate products and services available for building simulation purposes. A number of papers was selected by the scientific committee for publication in the journal Bauphysik (issue Feburary 2007).
The conferences are held in a bi-annual cycle (even year numbers), i.e. in cyclical change with the international IBPSA conferences Building Simulation.
Next conference: September 8-10, 2008 in Kassel, see BauSIM2008.
Topics
Besides on emphasis placed on a main issue, the BauSIM conferences cover the following topics within the scope of building performance simulation:
- Advances in building physics, heat, air, moisture and radiation transfer modelling
- Air flow simulation, room air quality
- Thermal comfort in rooms
- Thermal behaviour in the summer, (natural) ventilation concepts
- Building codes and regulations, simplified methods versus detailed simulation
- Resource requirements of buildings, life-cycle assessment
- HVAC simulation, building control and optimization, interaction with building control systems
- Solar energy systems, thermal storage
- Renewable energy resources, geothermics
- Daylighting
- Simulation tools and applications for sustainable building design
- Integration, interoperability Internet-based techniques
- Software development, open source initiatives
- Advances in teaching and education, eLearning
